Here, the New Pornographers invite a fan up on stage to sing the main vocals for “Myriad Harbour.” Neko Case adorably guides him and offers encouragement when he misses the occasional cue.

I wish that I could do this. I’d probably die from excitement! This is forever my jam. Challengers is one of those albums endlessly nostalgic albums for me.

“At Last” has always been a favorite. And it’s been permanently stuck in my head since 2009. Now that’s a sign of a good song.

This is almost too much to handle, honestly. Neko’s musings about attending a Vancouver art-school in the early ’90s (so many awful-sounding, cliche tampon art projects, including a pyramid filled with collected menstrual blood that dripped onto a mattress), the dynamics of interpersonal relationships (Neko to her guitarist Paul Rigby: “how come they never have a comedy where a guy and a lady are friends and they’re fuckin’ hilarious…and they just hang out and they don’t fuck each other?”), childhood crushes (Michael Palin), feminism (there should be more women representing: “On Civil War monuments and comedy shows!”)…I can keep going. She’s the best.
