I have watched all twelve episodes of New Girl that have aired so far within the last 24 hours. And you know what? I like this show. It’s not that special, but it’s charming, funny, and is both improving and becoming more self-aware (that recent episode where Zooey Deschanel’s persona/”whole thing” is dissected by Lizzy Caplan’s character was very entertaining). Sometimes you just need a silly sitcom to kick back with, and while I dismissed the pilot when I saw it back in September, I’m digging it now. In other words:

Other things that I’ve done today: finished Elmore Leonard’s The Switch (which is the predecessor to the novel that Tarantino’s Jackie Brown was based on; it was wonderful to see Ordell Robbie and Louis Gara trying to make a big score again), jogged two miles on my treadmill, and cleared up some vines in the backyard. It’s been a lazy day!
