ronkshit replied to your post: Speaking of sitcoms… but…his name is Criss Cross! OH RIGHT that is true, yes! Only redeeming quality. I’m not sure what it is but there’s just something about him that irks me. His general goofiness is too much, I think, even for 30 Rock. That’s saying a lot. I was actively rooting for Lutz last night. Lutz!

Speaking of sitcoms...
Am I the only person who can’t stand James Marsden as Liz Lemon’s new boyfriend on 30 Rock? He is the most annoying. It’s kind of spoiling her characterization and is a major downgrade from her previous beaus, especially Wesley Snipes. On the other hand, I fully ship Kristen Schaal and Tina Fey. Make it so, writers.

imfantasyparade replied to your post: I have watched all twelve episodes of New Girl… I though about watching the show, but Zooey’s character just seems so hopelessly co-dependent and annoying. Is she? Like a hipster-version of the archetypal Dumb Blonde? I wouldn’t say she’s co-dependent, at least no more than most other sitcom characters (the male characters on the show are...

I have watched all twelve episodes of New Girl that have aired so far within the last 24 hours. And you know what? I like this show. It’s not that special, but it’s charming, funny, and is both improving and becoming more self-aware (that recent episode where Zooey Deschanel’s persona/”whole thing” is dissected by Lizzy Caplan’s character was very entertaining)....

Elle: What’s Your Desert Island Record?
Carrie Brownstein: The whole desert island thing is really difficult. Part of me wants to choose Led Zeppelin II or III, but I’m worried about the lyrics and how eventually I’d want more from them. So, I’ll go with a band that I’ve loved since high school: the Replacements. Let It Be is the whole journey: It’s scrappy and yearning; it’s messy with moments of unadorned beauty. I can dance, sing, and cry, dance, sing, and cry. Ad infinitum.
